Requesting Proposals

Send task requests to several contractors, receive their price proposals, and choose the best one.

On our platform, you can create a task and ask your contractors what price they will be willing to accomplish this task for. After receiving your contractors’ offers you will be able to choose the best one and assign the task to the freelancer that suggested it.

Please note: The proposal request feature is only available within the Control module.

Step 1:

To receive proposals from contractors, you have to choose the option "Request proposal" in the Budget tab when creating a task.

Step 2:

Choose which type of fee (hourly or daily rate, fixed-rate, per word, per minute) your contractor should include in their proposal and create the task.

Step 3:

After creating the task, you can send a task request to multiple contractors. They now have to add a proposal to accept the task.

Step 4:

As soon as a contractor has sent you a proposal, we will inform you via e-mail and in your Lano account.

Step 5:

You can then compare the proposals in the Team Members tab and assign the task to the Contractor with the best proposal.

Step 6:

If you want to re-negotiate the fee offered by your contractor, you can click on the icon next to the assign button. This will open an extra page where you can comment to start a conversation with the freelancer to discuss the offer again.

Step 7:

Once you are happy and you have agreed on a price, click on the assign button. The initial suggested value will be pre-filled but you can also adjust the price by changing the fee and clicking on “create”. Now your contractor will be automatically assigned.

Please note: Alternatively, you can click "skip and assign" and no fee will be set e.g. when you are not sure about the hours that the freelancers will take to perform the work. You then have to set the fee when approving the task.
